I love Graham Greene and Vienna, so why I had never watched the Third Man I don't know, but I saw the Third Man for the first time in a cinema in Vienna. What stands out about the Third Man for me is that it captures that particular post-war Viennese decay that was very timely, and while I may not have the opportunity to stand in a location and see exactly what was up on the screen, in a way that makes it far more interesting: to see how the city has developed through the Cold War and into the 21st century. Also, a ton of Harry Potter was filmed in the west and northwest of Scotland - the Glenfinnan viaduct was featured prominently in Chamber of Secrets and Hogwarts is located in that area of the highlands. It looks so beautiful in the movie, too! Thanks for great tips on pretty places!
