Have you been to Maui, Hawaii yet? There's a beautiful nature preserve called Pu'u Kukui in the tops of the West Maui Mountains. It is pristine, serene, and secluded. I have mixed feelings about Trang. Ko Muk is pretty much on the resort traveller’s beaten path, especially on the sunset side of the island. Many locals on Muk moved inland rather than seaside because of the tsnami. For a bittersweet experience, visit and stay at Sinchai’s Chao Mai resort. the place was unfortunately devastated by the tsunami, uprooted trees still lie on the beach and you can stay in a leaning, waterlogged bungalow. The town of Chai Mai strange as well. but what makes up for the strage vibe of the place is a secluded cove, only accessible by low tide or by dinghy. You can have it all to youself.

I am looking for something to do in Trang for a one day tour – I will be getting there on a Sat. morning and leaving at 1 pm on sunday, and want to do something interesting/amazing/what-have-you in the time I have there…anything cheap that is good?

I really wanted to explore Trang, but came down with a stomach bug on Koh Lanta and succumbed to my travel partner’s desire to see Ko Phi Phi – this article really makes me wish that I had made the effort to go a little further south!

I passed through Trang on my way into Malaysia and loved the town’s somewhat unpolished character. Quite refreshing after the same old tourist scene in Krabi. I didn’t have time to explore the coast, but now I’m wishing I had. Great article!
