Hi Tom,

Oxford’s not quite in the Delta proper, but it is a seriously classic college town with a strong music scene, a great literary tradition (Faulkner and all that) and within easy reach of the airport in Memphis. So the area around there could be a good bet. Anywhere in the Clarksdale end of the Delta would also be in easy commuting distance of Memphis, while the Greenville-Greenwood end is in striking distance of the airport in Jackson.

where in the delta would be the best place to hole up, live cheaply, and write books? thinking rural but perhaps within range of a university and an airport…
