In Bar Harbor they did all of the great old-fashioned stuff -- blueberry pancake Rotary breakfast, parade, waterfront fireworks. But they have become very eco-aware. For example, at the Seafood Festival they had eating utensils that were potato-based and totally biodegradable/compostable. I love island living, too -- thank you, Sabina. The islands really do have their own mystique. The islanders seem happy to be separated from the rest of us. I love what they call the mainland - "America."
