Just thought ya'll should know Matador scoops the LA Times by over a year when Tim suggested I pen this piece. They just did a full page spread in their Travel Section on CDA (Couer d Alene) this past weekend. You can find it on the LA Times website

Can't believe the writer didn't have a Huddy Burger though.....and I have to make an editorial correction. Hudson's Hamburgers was established in 1907.....102 years of good grease cooked by the third generation!

I am currently sitting in Priest River Idaho as I read your article and typing this reply, I live in the Coeur d'Alene area but hail from Priest River (or 'P.R.' as we call it). We just got done hiking the Granite Falls trail and the Roosevelt grove yesterday (07/08/08) in Priest lake (40 miles N. of here) and spending some time on the Priest Lake. I think it is very cool that I am sitting here and I am using Stumbleupon in Firefox and it brings me to a page that chronicles the hike that I just did yesterday! :) - If you are interested in more pictures I took a ton of the falls and the forest, let me know if you want a copy!

Thanks for the good read! P.S. The Huckleberry Ale at the CDA brewery (formerly known as T.W. Fishers) was the reason I had more than a few tipsy nights in the early 90's when I was going to college at North Idaho College (NIC) ;)
