Did and incredible fly fishing trip to Idaho last summer…place called Palisades Creek. Been dying to plan another trip for this year and Montana sounds like the place. Thanks for the info!

Silver Creek is trout heaven. I’ve fished it on several occassions.

Oh… fly fishing. Unfortunately the choices for casting a line are somewhat limited here in Korea, though not completely absent.

That trip to New Zealand last year made it worth while, though.

Tim….your piece on Traverse a couple years back on the Lamar River backcountry was amazing. After all the touristas leave my own private Idaho I’m heading in myself come September

For those who’d like to slip across the border to Idaho I have one must fish watershed….world class fishing at the Silver Creek Preserve run by the Nature Conservancy in Picabo, Idaho. last June I was there for a hatch that was nothing less than spectacular. Average three thousand fish per square mile all wild as hell and a challenge to catch.

From New Zealand to Patagonia to Hokkaido to Vermont, I have NEVER found better fly-fishing than in the Greater Yellowstone Area of Montana. If you like to fish, you owe it to yourself to go.
