Good to see Cape town on this list. A word though – mountain biking down Table Mountain is not permitted to the best of my knowledge, and using the jeep track is not terribly exciting.

Chamonix HAS to be in there, the spiritual home of alpinism and some of the sickest off piste in the world!

You missed Leadville Colorado. You can do any adventure you want – year round- and have a funky non touristy town to boot.

Chamonix is definitely a great addition! I just learned about the town a few weeks ago when I saw a documentary about extreme skiing and snowboarding.
